Public Art

My approach to public art is to create sculptural environments that compliment and reflect the natural or man-made context in which they reside.

To accentuate the naturalistic appearance and texture of the project, the prominent elements are often hand-forged using traditional blacksmithing techniques. I prefer to fabricate with mild steel, stainless steel, brass and copper. These are durable and low-maintenance materials, suitable for high-traffic, outdoor and indoor public environments.

Placing sculpture in the public realm is important as it breaks down all socio-economic barriers. Adding elements such as lighting, ensures that the project engages the public, from children to adults, both day and night.
